Yoga

"When we pause, allow a gap and breathe deeply, we can experience instant refreshment. Suddenly, we slow down, and there's the world."

Pema Chodron

As a therapeutic yoga instructor, I am extensively trained with over 10 years of teaching experience. I believe that yoga offers something for everyone, including those who don’t feel that yoga comes naturally. This has led me towards specializing in yoga for athletes, therapeutic yoga, restorative yoga, and yoga for chronic illness (both mental and physical).

I am keenly interested in the unique exploration that yoga offers to individuals, regardless of their age, physical limitations, practice level, or background.

Services

Private Sessions
Yoga was traditionally taught one-on-one in a mentoring relationship between teacher and student. Private lessons provide a setting in which your individual needs can be completely addressed. Yoga postures and breathing exercises are selectively chosen to develop a practice that is relevant to your own body and life experience. Attentively guided by verbal instruction, imagery, demonstration, and hands-on direction, you will explore yoga in a way that is practical and benecial. Private sessions are available in the privacy of your home or at one of the studios where I teach.

Duet sessions
You and a friend, family member, or partner.

Group privates
Parties of 3 or more.

Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga is a form of yoga that seeks to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation with the aid of props. It is especially useful when you need to eliminate fatigue and stress that result from your daily activities.

Supported and passive yoga postures allow the body to naturally release and to let go of deeply held tension and stress, which in turn helps to restore the nervous system, regulate the body’s natural functions, get rid of toxins, and renew a sense of calm and balance to your entire being. It can also help you recover from illness and injury, or overcome emotional depression and anxiety that are caused by traumatic events such as divorce, loss of job, and death of a beloved.

Restorative yoga is an excellent compliment to psychotherapy.
